Three of Hawai‘i’s leading award-winning performers and musicians -- Lehua Kalima (of Na Leo), Shawn Pimental, and Kawika Kahiapo have joined forces to create music that springs from their Native Hawaiian roots. Kulaiwi means “land of my ancestors”. With soaring vocals, breathtaking island harmonies, and a folk vibe, along with easy-going charisma and witty charm, their captivating performances reflect their passionate commitment to their islands. On display are their prodigious talents as lyricists and composers, creating music imbued with Hawaiian values and ways of being in the world, while drawing inspiration from diverse musical styles. Most recently, their release Native Lands garnered multiple awards at the Na Hoku Hanohano Awards (Hawai‘i’s Grammy), including Album of the Year and the coveted Group of the Year. Accompanied by award-winning hula dancer Pono Fernandez, they create an evening of deep emotional connections to their roots as they celebrate Hawai‘i today.
